A Church for All People and a soon-to-be brewery

We’ve got something brewing…

Actually the brewery part isn’t ready yet.  While you may get to enjoy someone’s homebrew we’re still in the early stages of planning.  So I guess what’s brewing is just the idea of a church community that’s about building relationships in a way where we can be authentic and journey together in the joy and the mess of life.

Rather than being oriented around Sunday programming, we’re creating a venue for everyone to experience who Jesus actually is without having to clean ourselves up first.  Afterall, Jesus didn’t just hang out with religious people in the temple, but he went to the homes of people who were hated and marginalized by the religious elite.   Jesus didn’t ask them to change who they were so they would be holy enough to be around him, he just showed up.  Whether you’re already a follower of Jesus, or you’re not even interested in faith at all, The Bozeman Abbey is a place where you’ll be accepted and will forge some awesome friendships!

Even without the brewery and location, We are launching the community with groups and events!

FAQ

What if I don't drink beer?

We’ve been trying out some phenomenal non-alcoholic options.  One of our big priorities is to make the Bozeman Abbey a fun and safe environment for people who aren’t beer drinkers.  We’ve come up with some great beverages that our beer drinking friends even love!  You won’t feel like you’re missing out for a minute!

Do you have a location?

We’re still in the early stages of planning and getting going.  Right now, we don’t have a location and we’re not selling beer.  We’re excited for the time when we get to fully launch, but the purpose is really to create community and friendships and we don’t need to wait for locations and brewing licenses for that part.  We’ll talk more about our plans in the coming months.

The Bozeman Abbey is covered under 501(c)3, and can accept tax deductible donations.  If you’re excited and can’t wait, feel free to make a contribution to The Bozeman Abbey.

How does the abbey affect other churches in the area?

The Bozeman Abbey is not your typical church plant.  We’re actually planning to have most of our activities off-Sunday.  Most churches are working hard to provide great Sunday morning programming, with preaching, music, and things for kids.  Our goal is to be something entirely different that supplements and enhances the other churches in our community.

Many churches have been praying for “revival,” and building relationships with people outside the walls of the Church is the key.  One of the challenges we have as a community of churches, is that our Sunday services don’t create an unstructured space for relationships with each-other.  Moreover, we aren’t creating a place where people outside the church can interact with Christians.  We’re creating a hub in which people who follow Jesus to build organic, unstructured relationships with one another in a place people outside the church might want to go.  We’ll provide some teaching online related to topics we struggle to address on Sundays because of their sensitive nature, but we’ll be encouraging everyone to attend their own church on Sundays.

Will you have Sunday services/how will you teach?

We’ll be sure to provide all the essential components of a healthy church (worship, discipleship, community, evangelism, and ministry), but we won’t be doing it in the conventional ways.  We’ll also be encouraging people to worship in their Sunday-church.  Here’s what our format will look like:

Relationships-first

Interest-based Groups

Focused Online Teaching

Periodic worship events

How do I get connected/involved?

There are a ton of ways to help.  If your currious about getting involved, start by setting up a profile and planning to come to our events.  If you let us know you are interested in being a part of the team, we’ll get together with you to connect your passion and talents with one of our opportunities to volunteer.
